Named after the Maasai people who inhabit the area and the Mara River, which flows through this great reserve, the Masai Mara National Reserve is a land of breathtaking vistas over endless game-filled plains. Contiguous with Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, it is known the world over for the awe-inspiring spectacle of the annual Great Migration over the golden savannahs. While the migration is spectacular, the Masai Mara offers a constant and unparalleled flow of wildlife throughout the year. Governors’ Camp nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, its waters teeming with birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles, in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve.
