Description

Ngwenya Lodge is located on the banks of the Crocodile River which forms the natural boundary between the lodge site and the famous Kruger National Park.

With the exception of a few development sites along this river, most of the opposite bank consists of the Kruger National Park and some farmlands where sugar cane is cultivated.

Accommodation is provided in luxury air-conditioned one, two and three bedroom facebrick thatched lodges, which are fully equipped (Satellite TV, towels, linen, cutlery and crockery) and is serviced on a daily basis. Each lodge has its own braai facility and carport.

Ngwenya Lodge – Single Accommodation SpecialThe probability that more land along this river will be zoned for resort development in future is remote, because the available land is extensively used for agriculture and the National Parks Board of South Africa opposes any new developments along the borders of the Kruger National Park. This implies that the Ngwenya resort site will probably be the last new resort location along the boundary of the Kruger National Park.

There are no game fences between Ngwenya and the Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River forms the only physical boundary between these two areas. This feature surely places the resort in a rather unique situation. During winter months, when the flow of the river is at its lowest, wild animals such as lion, buffalo and elephant have been known to visit the premises or wander along the river bank directly in front of the resort. Ngwenya also plays host to hippopotamus which have found dams on the resort a better home than the river itself.
